March 8th 2002

- CANADA : The date is now on the obverse of the coin and is double dated 1952-2002. This date is commemorating the Queen's 50th year on the throne. The date doesn't appear on the reverse.
- MONGOLIA : New 500 togtog 2001 in circulation (Copper-Nickel). The coin also commemorates the 80th anniversary of Mongolian national revolution.
- TRANSDNIESTRIA : New 25 kopeek 2002 were released in circulation (Similar to 50 kopeek). This coin is added to the 2000 coins (1-5-10-50 kopeek) already in circulation.


December 31th 2001

- ARGENTINA : New 1 peso 2001 (commemorative) was released in circulation (150th anniversary of San Jose).
- RUSSIA : New 1 ruble 2001 was released in circulation. The coin commemorates the 10th anniversary of Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
- UZBEKISTAN : New 5, 10 and 50 som 2001 were released in circulation. The 5 and 10 som are similar to 1 som 2000 and 50 som features.


December 23th 2001

- BOLIVIA : New 5 bolivianos 2001 (Bi-metallic) in circulation, the coin replaces the 5 bolivianos note. The design is similar to the other coins in circulation.
- CHILE : New 100 pesos 2001 (Bi-metallic) in circulation since December 14th. This coin replaces the actual 100 pesos (Copper). See the "Banco Central de Chile" website for further information.
- ROMANIA : New 5000 lei 2001 in circulation since December 10th (Due to high inflation). The coin is made of Al and Dodecagonal shape. The 5000 lei notes will be removed from circulation. See the "National Bank Of Romania" website for further information.
- TAIWAN : New 10$ 2001 commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Republic (Copper-Nickel).


November 20th 2001

- AUSTRALIA : New 50 cents 2002 and 1 dollar 2002 commemorating the Year Of The Outback. The $1 coin depicts the official Year of the Outback logo, whilst the 50c coin design features the wanes of a windmill.


November 3th 2001

- AUSTRALIA : New 1$ 2001 commemorating The International Year of the Volunteer. The Mint will produce some 6 million coins that will go into circulation around the country.
- CHINA : New 5 yuan 2001 commemorating the 90th Anniversary of Sin Hai Revolution.(The Chinese bourgeois democratic revolution led by Dr.Sun Yat-Sen which overthrew the Qing Dynasty). The coin features a hologram (1911 - 2001). Thanks to "Sunfeico China coins" for this information.
- DENMARK : New 20 kroner 2000 commemorating the 60th anniversary of Queen Margarethe II have been released in circulation.


October 15th 2001

- BOTSWANA : New 5 pula 2000 (bimetal) have been released in circulation. The coin features a worm on a leaf and the usual coat of arms on the reverse. Please Contact me if you are able to supply me one coin.
- TURKEY : New smaller 25 000, 50 000 and 100 000 lira 2001 in circulation. The coins features popular personalities of Turkey.


October 8th 2001

- TAJIKISTAN : New 5,10, 20, 25 and 50 Diram as well as 1, 3 and 5 Somoni have been put in circulation on September 3th 2001. The 1 and 5 Somoni banknotes will remain in circulation with coins of the same denominations. See a picture

- ZIMBABWE : New 5 dollars 2001 (Bimetal) in circulation was released on August 31th 2001. The new coin features a rhinoceros. See a picture

- New commemorative 1 dollar 2000 which have mintmark, either A, B, C, M, S for Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. This coins is about the boat HMAS Sydney II. It was a boat an Australian in World War II and it sunkoff Western Australia (1941) when German Boat attacked it. This coin haven't been released in circulation.
- New commemorative 1 dollar 2000 which have mintmark A,B,C,M,S. This coin commemorates the Olymphilex Ehxibition :" The olymphilex exhibition held in Sydney and Canberra during the time of the Olympic Games in September 2000 brings together an international exhibition of numismatic, philatelic and other olympic memorabilia" (Text from Royal Australian Mint). This coin haven't been released in circulation.
- New commemorative 50 cents 2000 about visit of Elizabeth II in Australia. This coin features an unique bust of Elizabeth II and have been released in circulation.
 - Royal Australia Mint talked about redesign 10c-50c and $1."RAM controller Graeme Moffatt said the 50c coin would keep its bevelled edges, but would probably become smaller and lighter, while the 10c and $1 coins would undergo changes to make them less similar." - There will be a new bimetal 5 colones 2000 in circulation on September 15th 2000. "These new 5 Colon coins will be made by the Viridian Mint and will be have a diameter of 26mm diameter and a mass of 7.0 grams. Macedonia

Mexico

- 3 new bimetal coins will be strike in 2000 and 2001. The first is 10 pesos with the same caracteristics but with another design and two 20 peso coins that will be composed by a ring of aluminum/bronze and copper/nickel in its center; the first one will commemorate the new millenium according to the Aztec culture tradition, and the second one will commemorate Octavio Paz, the poet, who died last year and won the Nobel Prize of Literature.

- National Bank of Romania would like to emphasize the World event of the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 1999, as well as the approaching year 2000, by the new issue of the 2.000 Lei banknote, as legal tender. The 2,000 lei banknote issued by the National Bank of Romania is the first polymer banknote issued in Europe. This special folder is issued in a limited number of 1 million pieces, each of them containing a low numbered banknote with prefix 001A.

- New 10 tolarjev 2000 circulation coin have been issued on April 19th.they are made of Cu-Ni  diameter 24 mm and weight 5.75 grams. The face of the coin bears a rearing horse. Along the edge are the Latin word “EQUUS” and number 10 in Braille Alphabet. On the left upper part of the coin above the horse is the nominal value of the coin (10). The coin is of exact size and weight of the current One Rupee coin. It is round in shape with a diameter of 25.40 mm. and has a milled edge. It weighs 7.13 gms. - Turkey just issued new circulation 100 000 lira coin and a similar one comemorating 75 years of Turkish republic. Both have "75" logo on obverse but the regular coin has Kemal Pasha Ataturk on reverse and the commemorative coin has another "75" logo on obverse. Both coins are dated 1999. - New banknote have been released in 1999 : 10 million turkish lira. The main color is red and we can see a man named Ataturk on this note.
